Sunday night we were commissioned from First Presbyterian Church at the evening service. It was a bittersweet moment, as we worshiped together in our home church for what will be the last time for a long time. At then end of the commissioning Dr. Singleton had us kneel on the steps so that friends and family could gather around us, lay their hands on us and pray. I don’t think I can possibly capture how deeply meaningful it was for us, but we wanted to try to share it with you.

In addition to God’s remarkable provision for us in Connecticut, God has been faithful to send hundreds of dollars in new support just in the last few days. God is moving powerfully to get us to Europe. While our schedule is going to be intense, our future time in Colorado Springs is likely to be very scarce. If you are interested in meeting with us and learning more about our mission and how you can partner with us in prayer or financially, we hope you’ll call us immediately and let us know so we can find a time to meet. Partnership continues to be our most powerful ally and most critical need, so if God is moving in your heart, we don’t want to miss you.

While we aren’t crossing the Atlantic quite yet, we are knocking the first 2,000 miles off our trip. Calvary Chapel in Canterybury, Connecticut has offered us their missions home. The circumstances surrounding this offer sound too much like God for us to ignore them. The church there has been very supportive, and we believe that Canterbury will open up some new opportunities for us to raise the final support that we need to leave for Europe. However, the next several days are going to be really crazy because we’re leaving the 18th!!! We hope you’ll continue to be in prayer for us during this fast-paced time. We have a lot to accomplish in a very short time. Because it won’t be possible for us to catch up with everyone to say goodbye, we would like to invite you to join us for special prayer meeting on our behalf on Tuesday, August 14th, from 6-7 at First Presbyterian Church in room 208. Come, pray with and for us, and we’d love to give you a hug and tell you how much we’ll miss you. If you are unable to make it there, we understand there will be a special prayer for us during the evening service at FPC on Sunday the 12th.

I have something urgent that has come up that I would like to ask you to pray for today. We were recently put into contact with a church in Connecticut. They have a house out there that they are considering offering us for the remainder of our time fund-raising, and have also suggested they could help us to make contact with other churches and potential partners in that area. As we have felt like we have very few remaining potential partners here, we feel this may be God’s provision for the last 20% or so of our support. They will be meeting tonight to make a decision about whether or not to offer us the house. Please be in prayer that if our moving to Connecticut is not God’s will, that the house will not be offered. Please also be in prayer, as I am preparing letters of introduction and calling for them, that God would give me the words he intends me to say.
