As I sit down to right this, we are stepping off into week two of full time support raising. Things are beginning slowly, but I know that we’re on the right track because Satan is assaulting us full force. In the last week our house has been hit with the croup, strep throat, mono and a couple of nasty head colds. The exciting news is that we get to address a small church in Durango, Colorado this weekend. It will be our first opportunity to speak at a church in this capacity. We’ve been given the sermon time, and with that in mind I’ve been trying to bring some teaching into our presentation. Last night as I was hard at work on my message, the server that runs this site, handles all our email, connects us to the internet and generally handles all of our computery stuff keeled over dead. I had a long night of emergency surgery and we’re up and running again on a new computer. Please be in prayer over the coming days:

1. for the people we’ll be sharing our mission with - that their hearts will be open
2. for our message in Durango - that God will speak through us
3. and in the coming weeks - that God will sustain our spirits and thwart our enemy

Thursday the staff at First Pres threw me a going away party that was truly special. The minister of music, who has been my boss for the last several years, took the time to share how much our collaborations had meant to him and the impact he felt I had made on the ministry here and that was very nice. I have to say, though, that the highlight was the mini-documentary that several staff members had managed to produce behind my back. It cronicled the pranks that we have all worked together to play on our boss, and it was really very funny.

Here you can see Jim talking about one of his family photos. The gag here is that we replaced the faces in Photoshop with members of the Music Department.

It truly has been a pleasure to have this opportunity to be working in, and honestly establishing, an important ministry. I have high expectations for what First Pres will do in the field of media long term, and I am very thankful to have been a part of it.

As I sit here on my final morning, cleaning out my office, all of the stress and pressure of the past several years has begun to fade, and I find myself looking back fondly on my time here. I cannot wait to see what God will do next, but this truly has been a blessing.
